On October 7, 2016, the McMinnville Economic Development Partnership (MEDP) hosts McMinnville | MADE Day in an effort to celebrate manufacturers within McMinnville and to inform the community about the importance of manufacturing for economic health and vitality.

In conjunction with National Manufacturing Day and on MEDP’s 10th anniversary, the day will include VIP tours for invited guests, an awards luncheon, and an expo. The expo is at Konect Aviation from 2:00pm – 4:00pm and is open to the public. During the expo there will be demonstrations by companies, displays, and food/beverage tastings. 16 participating manufacturers will be present to speak about their products and services.

With over 85 manufacturers located in McMinnville, MEDP believes in the importance of not only celebrating the success of these companies, but also educating the region on all of the products created here. A champion for advanced manufacturing, Executive Director of MEDP, Jody Christensen, states: “This is a fantastic opportunity to share with the community the amazing products and the people behind them. Our office celebrates things made in McMinnville every day, and this event is a chance for the community to experience our local manufacturers firsthand.”

Currently, over 2,400 people are employed by manufacturers in McMinnville creating a total payroll of $108,724,078. McMinnville | MADE day gives an occasion to recognize the importance manufacturing holds in the community and for the future health of the McMinnville economy through not only jobs but by bringing new money into the region.

National Manufacturing day was created to inspire the next generation of manufacturers. With each aspect of McMinnville | MADE Day MEDP intends to stimulate curiosity. The VIP tours and luncheon will be attended by 100+ invited city and state representatives, elected officials, and business leaders and will take place at five of McMinnville’s leading manufacturers: Northwest UAV, NW Rapid, World Class Technology, Meggitt Polymers & Composites, and Betty Lou’s, Inc.
